The Dirty Bird

Next bout on books
April 29, 2022
Means (illness) will take on Kevin Holland on the June 18 UFC card, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
Means was forced to withdraw from his last scheduled bout in early February after testing positive for COVID-19 shortly before the fight was scheduled to take place. He is set for his first fight since June of 2021, when he earned a unanimous decision victory over Nicolas Dalby. He carries a three-match winning streak into the clash with Holland, who picked up a win at UFC 272 in May following three consecutive defeats.

Withdraws after positive COVID test
January 25, 2022
Means announced Sunday via his personal Instagram account that he withdrew from his Feb. 5 fight with Jeremiah Wells at UFC Fight Night 200 due to a positive COVID-19 test.
Though Means likely would have cleared all the necessary protocols prior to Feb. 5, he noted that the timing of his positive test would have made it too difficult for him to stay on track with his training in advance of the fight. Expect Means to prepare for a return to the Octagon at some point later in February or during the spring.
Loses opponent
January 22, 2022
Means will no longer take on Jeremiah Wells at UFC Fight Night on Feb. 5, MMAFighting.com reports.
No reason has been given for the fight being called off other than Means' opponent, Wells, being moved to UFC 271 on Feb. 12 against a different opponent. It remains to be seen if he will also get a new fight scheduled in the immediate future.
Fighting Jeremiah Wells in February
January 7, 2022
Means will take on Jeremiah Wells in Las Vegas on Feb. 5, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
Means is riding a streak of three straight victories, dispatching Laureano Staropoli, Mike Perry and Nicolas Dalby, all by unanimous decision. In Wells, he'll face another fighter who's won three straight fights, though two of those came before he signed his first UFC contract.
Shows high Fight IQ in win
June 27, 2021
Means defeated Nicolas Dalby via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Vegas 30 on Saturday.
Means appears to be evolving in the later stages of his career, as the veteran utilized his wrestling, as well as a high Fight IQ, to get the job done here. Albeit small, Means had a striking advantage in each of the first two frames, in addition to a Round 1 takedown that led to 3:07 worth of control time. Dalby went for broke in Round 3, however, and Means just barely survived the onslaught. Whenever he was hurt, Means was able to initiate a clinch, with the pause in action helping him recover. While Dalby clearly won Round 3, Means still racked up 3:11 worth of control time in the frame. While he didn't finish strong, it's the results that matter, and Means has now put together a three-fight winning streak at the age of 37.
Facing Dalby June 26
June 15, 2021
Means will now take on Nicolas Dalby at the UFC event on June 26, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
With Danny Roberts being off the June 19 card, the UFC acted quick to find an opponent for Means. Sergey Khandozhko had to withdraw from the June 26 card due to injury, so Means will now replace him against Dalby in a welterweight bout. Means will be making his first trip to the Octagon since last November when he defeated Mike Perry.
