Rodolfo Vieira

The Black Belt Hunter

To return against Curtis
April 13, 2022
Vieira will take on Chris Curtis in a middleweight matchup at the UFC event scheduled for June 25, Marcel Dorff of reports.
Vieira began his UFC career with a 3-1 record, with all three victories coming by way of submission. The most recent was a bonus-winning effort against Dustin Stoltzfus last July, as Vieira has been on the sidelines since due to a medical issue that was at one point in danger of threatening his MMA career. He's since received the proper clearance and will be tasked with taking on a red-hot newcomer in Curtis, who has won all three of his UFC fights by KO/TKO. Curtis also has yet to be taken down in the UFC, while Vieira averages 5.77 takedowns per 15 minutes of fight time. Keeping that pace will be imperative for the Brazilian if he hopes to counter the high-volume striking of Curtis.

Scores trademark submission win
July 17, 2021
Vieira defeated Dustin Stoltzfus via submission (rear-naked choke) at 1:54 of Round 3 at UFC on ESPN 26 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
Vieira deserves full marks for putting together a strong bounce back effort on the heels of one of the worst losses in recent memory his last time out in February. The Brazilian's cardio was abysmal in that lost to Anthony Hernandez, but looked much better on Saturday. Stoltzfus was no pushover and Vieira hung in there before eventually securing one of his trademark submissions. Vieira is one of the most decorated mat specialists in the sport today, with his main issue at this point being a lack of MMA experience. He turns 32 years of age in late September and has all of nine professional fights under his belt. Vieira needs to try to back in the octagon sooner rather than later.
