Vera will now fight Rob Font at a catchweight at Saturday's UFC Fight Night after Font weighed in 2.5 pounds over the limit Friday, MMAFighting.com reports.

Vera found himself planted on his back for the vast majority of Round 1. He was in a similar situation early in Round 2, but worked his way back to his feet and began to take control of the bout on the feet. His used his length to limit Edgar's striking attempts and land combinations of his own. The fight was trending towards a Vera decision victory, but he wisely eliminated the judges from the equation with a front kick right up the gut which cracked an unsuspecting Edgar in the jaw and forced referee Todd Anderson to (correctly) immediately step in and halt the proceedings.
