Andrea Lee

No-shows loss in Vegas
May 14, 2022
Lee lost to Viviane Araujo via unanimous decision (28-29, 27-29, 27-29) at UFC on ESPN 36 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
Lee has had some disappointing performances inside the Octagon, but this one might take the cake. She appeared to have a realistic chance at a stoppage win just moments into the fight after landing a big shot followed by a head kick, but Araujo (with some help from Lee herself) survived, and Andrea was dominated the rest of the way. Lee made a slew of positional mistakes, allowing Araujo to end up with a dominant position over and over, thus eliminating any chance she had of a potential comeback. Lee entered this fight having recorded back-to-back stoppage victories over Cynthia Calvillo (TKO) and Antonina Shevchenko (submission), but this performances always appeared to be aberration as opposed to a sign of things to come. Lee -- currently 5-4 after nine UFC bouts -- is running out of time at age 33.

Taking on Viviane Araujo
January 21, 2022
Lee will face Viviane Araujo on May 14, reports.
Lee has had a streaky start to her UFC career. She began it with three straight wins before losing her next three fights, only to rebound with a pair of wins over Antonina Shevchenko and Cynthia Calvillo last year. Both of those wins came in the second round. In Araujo, she'll face an opponent who will be looking to bounce back from a loss to Katlyn Chookagian.
Facing medical suspension

Lee is facing a potential six-month medical suspension for hand and foot injuries, reports.
Lee scored a TKO victory over Cynthia Calvillo on Saturday but evidently took a beating in the process. She'll undergo X-rays on her left hand and left foot and will be out until May 13 if either are positive unless cleared by a doctor.
Takes out Cynthia Calvillo
November 13, 2021
Lee defeated Cynthia Calvillo via TKO (Corner Stoppage) at 5:00 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas
One of the more inconsistent fighters on the entire UFC roster, Lee began her UFC run with three straight victories. She then lost three in a row, and has since won back-to-back fights. The competition level she was facing must be taken into account, but this was an excellent effort from "KGB." She essentially let Calvillo bury herself, as Lee simply sat back and used her jab to counter Cynthia to death. Calvillo and/or her corner ultimately decided to cut their losses at the end of Round 2. Lee has limited power in her hands, but she's very physically strong and has yet to be knocked out in her professional career. She needs to continue to rack up the victories considering she turns 33 years of age this coming February. In addition to the big win, she'll also take home a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus.
Now facing Cynthia Calvillo
October 19, 2021
Lee is now set to take on Cynthia Calvillo on Nov. 13 after Jessica Eye withdrew due to an infection, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
A new opponent was found for Lee quite quickly, as reports of Eye's withdrawal didn't surface until Monday and she already has a replacement Tuesday. Lee will be looking for her second straight victory, having earned a second-round submission win against Antonina Shevchenko in May, a result which ended a streak of three straight defeats. In Calvillo, she'll be facing an opponent who will be looking to avoid a three-fight losing streak of her own.
Eye fight appears off
October 19, 2021
Lee is in search of a new opponent for the Nov. 13 UFC event following the presumed withdrawal of Jessica Eye, reports.
The scheduled bout is less than a month away, but Eye revealed via Instagram that she was recently hospitalized due to an allergic reaction and the focus is now on her health. Meanwhile, John Morgan of USA Today is reporting that verbal agreements are already in place for Cynthia Calvillo to take the fight in Eye's stead. That would actually be a big step up for Lee compared to Eye, but also one that would give her a chance to crack the top-10 flyweight rankings.
