New Schnell date set
Perez's scheduled flyweight matchup against Matt Schnell has been moved to UFC 271 on Feb. 12, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport Nederland reports.
ANALYSIS
This was a saga that started last summer when Perez was supposed to take on Askar Askarov, but Schnell was forced to step in after Askarov's withdrawal. The fight was then rescheduled three times and was supposed to land at UFC 269, but Schnell then had to withdraw due to an unspecified medical issue. Should this new date proceed as planned, Perez is currently listed as a (-350) betting favorite. He may be giving up height and reach advantages, but his striking volume, takedown average and strength of schedule are all superior to that of Schnell.

Fight called off
Perez will no longer take on Matt Schnell on Saturday, as his opponent was not cleared to fight due to an undisclosed medical issue, Aaron Bronsteter of TSN.ca reports.
ANALYSIS
Schnell was able to weigh in but will not be allowed to step into the Octagon. Perez actually wound up missing weight by a quarter of a pound, but that won't end up mattering due to Schnell's withdrawal. The fight has now fallen through four separate times, and it's unclear if it will be set for a fifth date in the near future.

Fight moved again
Perez will now face Matt Schnell in a flyweight fight at the UFC's Dec. 11 event after the bout was rebooked for a fourth different card, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Perez was initially supposed to meet Schnell on May 15 and now the fight has been pushed back almost seven months. It's unclear what keeps causing this fight to be delayed but Perez will look to get back in the win column after coming up short against Deiveson Figueiredo last November.
