Next fight on books
StrawweightUFC
May 12, 2022
Lemos will duke it out with Michelle Waterson on the July 16 UFC card, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Lemos tapped in the first round of her UFC debut versus Jessica Andrade, so she heads into her second fight with the promotion looking for a better showing. Next on the docket is Waterson, who has been struggling lately herself, falling in three of her last four fights via decision. Lemos holds both a height (one inch) and a reach (three inches) over her opponent, so she may aim to use that to keep Waterson at a distance.

Taps in first UFC main event
StrawweightUFC
April 23, 2022
Lemos lost to Jessica Andrade via submission (standing arm-triangle) at 3:13 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Lemos struggled in a split decision win over Angela Hill last December, yet was still rewarded with her first UFC main event here. She looked great in the early portion of this fight, hammering Andrade on the feet and consistently walking her down. All appeared fine until Jessica forced her up against the cage and clamped on a standing arm-triangle. Lemos seemed quite likely to survive as long as she was able to remain upright, but Andrade kept squeezing and Amanda eventually tapped. Lemos entered having won five in a row, but all of those victories came against lesser competition, and she will continue to have her doubters until she defeats better opponents. The fact Lemos turns 35 years of age next month doesn't help matters any.
Taking on Jessica Andrade
StrawweightUFC
January 21, 2022
Lemos will face Jessica Andrade on April 23, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lemos has been on a tear over the last few years, winning five straight fights. Three of those came in the first round, though her most recent bout lasted the full 15 minutes and resulted in merely a split decision victory over Angela Hill. Andrade will be dropping from flyweight to strawweight for the fight and will look to improve on her 2-3 record over his last five fights.
Struggles in split decision win
StrawweightUFC
December 18, 2021
Lemos defeated Angela Hill via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
A win is a win, but whether or not Lemos deserved this one is debatable, and it was unquestionably a mediocre performance as a massive -290 favorite. Yes, Lemos started quickly and won the opening frame, but Hill got better as the fight progressed, while Lemos spent at least 90 seconds in each of the final two rounds being controlled by her opponent. Lemos made a name for herself in the UFC with a pair of first-round knockout victories against lesser competition, but this was a struggle against a more established opponent in Hill. Still, it's difficult to argue with the results, and Lemos has now won five straight since being stopped by Leslie Smith in her company debut in July 2017. She'll also walk away with a $50,000 bonus here after this was awarded Fight of the Night honors.
Opponent changed for next fight
StrawweightUFC
November 9, 2021
Lemos will now take on Angela Hill on Dec. 18 after Nina Nunes withdrew for undisclosed reasons Tuesday, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
Lemos will be looking to continue her four-fight winning streak, with three of those wins coming in the first round. In Hill, she'll face a 36-year-old who headlined a card as recently as 2020 but has lost three of her last four fights.
Fight with Nina Nunes on tap
StrawweightUFC
August 19, 2021
Lemos (10-1-1) is scheduled to face Nina Nunes (10-7-0) in a strawweight fight at the UFC's Dec. 18 event, Farah Hannoun of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Lemos has been riding high since dropping down to the strawweight division late in 2019, winning each of her four bouts. The 34-year-old Brazilian submitted one of her most dominant performances to date in her last trip to the Octagon in July, when she needed only 35 seconds to knock out Montserrat Ruiz via punches.
