McPherson’s rookie season will likely most be remembered for his brazening game-winning kick to upset the Titans in the AFC Divisional Round, but the 2021 fifth-round pick was relatively consistent throughout the season, missing just five field goals overall. The Bengals are once again poised to be among the NFL’s best offenses in the league which should see McPherson among the league leaders in points scored.

Gay continued to build off his strong 2020 season, missing just two attempts total in 2021. The 2019 fifth-round pick has a powerful leg, but the Rams haven’t necessarily depended on it as Gay has just six 50-plus yard attempts across 24 contests. There’s reason to believe the 2022 iteration of the Rams offense could be one of the best under coach Sean McVay, and a competitive schedule might see Gay attempt more field goals overall in a high-powered offense.

Bass has missed just 10 field goals since joining the starting lineup in 2020 with just under half coming from 50-plus yard attempts. Despite the misses, the 25-year-old has a pretty consistently strong leg and the Bills don’t shy away from field goals if the offense stalls. Buffalo made a number of moves to improve its offense which should theoretically bump up Bass’ attempts, although no home dome does limit the fantasy upside as the season progresses.

Tucker’s 2021 season saw the All-Pro attempt his most field goals (37) since 2018 while still being his usually proficient self, missing just two total attempts. Baltimore’s offense dropped off dramatically after two years near the top of the league, and so too did Tucker’s extra-point attempts (32) as the veteran saw the fifth fewest attempts of his entire career. Another year in a run-heavy offensive scheme should see Tucker once again near the top of field-goal attempts, but it could come at the cost of extra points.

Carlson attempted a league-high 43 field goals in 2021, converting a preposterous 92 percent of them en route to second-team All-Pro honors. The Raiders made a number of moves to improve their offense during the offseason, most notably acquiring All-Pro wideout Davante Adams to reunite with his college quarterback, Derek Carr. While it’s possible the Raiders offense could become more efficient as a result, it’s hard to imagine Carlson losing a dramatic amount of field-goal attempts making him easily an upper echelon fantasy option entering 2022.
