2021 Fantasy Outlook
Cain is looking to round back into form after a lost season in 2020 in which he was injured in the season-opener after just three carries. Prior to that, Cain had a promising freshman season capped off by a two-touchdown performance in the Cotton Bowl against Memphis. Cain projects to be the leader of the Nittany Lion backfield, particularly after none of his counterparts seized the opportunity in his absence last season. Commits to LSU
Cain announced Thursday via his personal Twitter account that he intends to join LSU as a transfer from Penn State.
ANALYSIS
After carrying 106 times for 350 yards and four scores in 2021, Cain was protected to enter the spring as Penn State's No. 1 back before he announced his intentions to transfer Wednesday. Just one day later, Cain found a new home in Baton Rouge, where he could have a similarly good opportunity to open the upcoming season as a starter following the departure of Tyrion Davis-Price for the 2022 NFL Draft.
