Lawrence (lower body) returned to practice Tuesday, Dave Campbell of 630 CHED reports.

Lawrence, who has been sidelined since July 26 with a lower body injury, is inching closer to a return, though his status for Saturday's game against the Lions remains up in the air. When he returns, he'll assume a special team's role while also providing depth at running back.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

The Eskimos placed Lawrence on the six-game injured list Wednesday due to a lower body injury, 3downnation.com reports.

The injury occurred during the team's Week 5 win over Hamilton. After being cut in training camp, Lawrence was brought back after John White went down with a season ending injury. Lawrence mainly played a special team's role and provided depth at running back, so his absence will not shake up much with the rest of the team. The 26-year-old will be eligible to return Sep. 9 against the Stampeders.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lawrence will serve as the Eskimos' backup running back and primary kick returner in Friday's matchup with the Redblacks.

Lawrence rejoined the Eskimos last week in the wake of fellow running back John White's season-ending knee injury, and he will immediately have a role on both offense and special teams. Don't expect him to see much, or any, work in the backfield, however, unless new top back Travon Van goes down with an injury of his own.

Lawrence signed with the Eskimos on Wednesday.

Just several weeks after being released by the Eskimos, Lawrence was picked back up by the team following the loss of their top running back, John White, for the season due to an ACL tear. Lawrence, who played for Eskimos last season, will help provide depth at running back and could also help out with kick and punt returns.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lawrence was released by the Eskimos on Saturday.

Lawrence had his best years with the Eskimos in 2014 and 2015 and was looking to mimic that success after re-signing with Edmonton this past offseason, but he was beaten out for reserve running back spots by Travon Van and LaDarius Perkins.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lawrence scored a five-yard touchdown on his lone carry in Sunday's preseason opener and also saw action in the return game.

Lawrence played a minimal role Sunday, but he still made his presence felt thanks to his trip to the end zone and a 19-yard punt return. The Eskimos are deep at the running back position, but Lawrence's ability to return kicks could help him secure a roster spot.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lawrence signed with the Eskimos on Tuesday, Morley Scott of 630 CHED reports.

After a brief stint with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats last season, Lawrence will return to his former club in Edmonton. The 25-year-old is a versatile player who can make contributions as a receiver, a runner, or a kick returner. He has four career special teams touchdowns to his name and should immediately compete to become the Eskimos' primary returner.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lawrence will suit up Friday for the first time since joining the Tiger-Cats earlier in October.

Lawrence was added to the roster this week with Brandon Banks (suspension) and Anthony Woodson (undisclosed) unable to suit up. Lawrence will serve as a reserve running back and also work as the Tiger-Cats' primary return man, which he will likely do in Week 19 as well with Banks out for two games.

October 10, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lawrence signed a deal with the Tiger-Cats on Monday.

Lawrence was the Roughriders' return man before he was released on October 1, and got occasional offensive touches. His role for the Tiger-Cats is yet to be determined.

October 1, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lawrence was released by the Roughriders on Saturday.

Lawrence served as the Roughriders' return man and received a few touches on offense most weeks, but the team decided to part ways with him Saturday following the addition of fellow receiver Jeff Fuller.

September 22, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lawrence has been placed on the suspended list due to a family emergency, Roughriders broadcaster Rod Pedersen reports.

Lawrence has not been suspended for disciplinary reasons; rather, he is taking time to attend to a personal matter. It remains to be seen if he will be available for the Roughriders' next game Saturday against the Tiger-Cats.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lawrence missed practice Thursday for the second straight day, Kyle Galliver of Regina News reports.

The CFL website states that Lawrence has been moved to the Roughriders' suspended list. More information should arise regarding his status closer to game day.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lawrence has been scratched from Sunday's matchup with the Eskimos, Ian Hamilton of the Regina Leader-Post reports.

While a specific reason was not disclosed, Lawrence will be on the sidelines Sunday after being scratched prior to kickoff. Lawrence has played in eight games this season, notching 17 receptions for 129 yards. He'll sit out Sunday, but could be back in the lineup come next Saturday's outing versus the Tiger-Cats.

September 11, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lawrence totaled 10 yards on eight carries, nine yards on his sole reception and 43 yards on a pair of missed field goal returns in Saturday's 17-10 loss to the Blue Bombers.

The 25-year-old was active in multiple roles and made his biggest impact on special teams with a pair of returns of missed field goals. Lawrence's fantasy value is generally capped each week due to his limited involvement from scrimmage and he also saw Ricky Collins and Armanti Edwards log kickoff and punt return duties, respectively, on Saturday.

September 5, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lawrence carried the ball six times for 26 yards, caught five passes for 24 yards and tallied 108 yards in punt returns including an 85-yard TD return in Sunday's loss to the Blue Bombers.

The touchdown briefly gave the Riders a shot at winning a game inside the final minute, but Winnipeg promptly marched back for the game-winning field goal with no time left on the clock. Lawrence's 50 yards from scrimmage Sunday was actually his best production in three weeks, as his special teams contributions continue to keep his fantasy value afloat.

August 27, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lawrence gained six yards and a touchdown on two carries, secured three receptions for 43 yards, totaled 32 yards on four punt returns and amassed 80 yards on four kickoff returns in Friday's 33-25 loss to the Eskimos.

The 25-year-old receiver was busiest in the return game by far, considering the back-and-forth nature of the contest, particularly in the second half. Lawrence was solid but not spectacular in all areas and served as an effective complementary option in the passing game on a night where Naaman Roosevelt and Caleb Holley combined for 17 receptions. His five-yard scamper into the end zone in the third quarter also served as his first touchdown from scrimmage all season.

August 25, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lawrence will again start at running back in Friday's game against the Eskimos.

Lawrence will start for the fourth game in a row with fellow running back Curtis Steele (knee) still banged up. Lawrence was quiet in Week 9, racking up just 22 total yards on two carries and two receptions.

August 14, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lawrence carried the ball nine times for 45 yards, caught two catches for 24 yards and added 69 yards on kick returns in Saturday's loss to the Stampeders.

He's been productive in a variety of roles for the Roughriders, but the offense's overall lack of explosiveness doesn't provide Lawrence with much support. Expect him to continue piling up yards but he could have difficulty getting into the end zone as the season wears on.

August 5, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lawrence rushed for 45 yards on six carries while adding 76 yards on four kick returns and catching one pass for two yards in Thursday's loss to the Stampeders.

He's technically Saskatchewan's new starting running back, but Lawrence will continue to be used in a variety of roles going forward rather than exclusively out of the backfield as the team tries to find ways to get the ball in his hands.

August 3, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lawrence will be the starting running back for Thursday's matchup with Calgary.

With former starting running back Michael Dyer's release, Lawrence will now become the main starter. Lawrence is used all over the place, and usually makes his main contributions through special teams plays, but if he can impress on Thursday, he could cement his spot as the team's permanent solution at running back.

July 23, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lawrence was all over the stat sheet in Friday's 30-29 victory over the Redblacks, totaling six yards on his sole rush, gaining 10 yards on two receptions, amassing 47 yards on seven punt returns, registering 31 yards on two kickoff runbacks and adding seven yards on a missed field goal return.

The versatile jack-of-all-trades had his hands on the ball plenty, but made his biggest contributions on special teams. Lawrence has been a virtual non-factor from scrimmage to date this season with only seven combined rushing and receiving touches, after totaling 76 catches and 93 rushes over the last two campaigns.

June 19, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lawrence hauled in three catches for 42 yards in Saturday's 25-11 preseason loss to the Eskimos

The 25-year-old returns to the Roughriders for a second campaign, after serving as an outstanding all-purpose presence in 2015. Lawrence totaled 2,113 yards for Saskatchewan last season, with 332 yards receiving, 147 yards rushing, 963 yards in punt returns and 671 yards in kickoff returns. The Missouri product and jack-of-all-trades figures to play multiple roles again in 2016.
