2022 Tournament PreviewDavidson is in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2018 after winning the Atlantic 10 regular season and advancing to the conference tournament final. The key piece has been Michigan State transfer Foster Loyer (16.4 ppg, 3.3 apg), who recently returned from a leg injury to resume point-guard duty. Loyer, who shoots 44.5 percent from long range, is one of four sharpshooters for a team that ranks eighth in the nation in three-point shooting. Hyunjung Lee (16.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg) hits 37.9 percent from deep, 6-10 center Luka Brajkovic (14.2 ppg, 7.2 rpg) drills 40.7 percent and Mike Jones (11.9 ppg) is true on 42.5 percent. Davidson is 11th in offensive efficiency (per KenPom), but just 152nd on the defensive side. The Wildcats rebound well, though, ranking eighth in defensive rebounding rate. With a 2-2 record in Quad 1 games and zero Quad 4 losses, Davidson might even end up the favorite in a closely-projected first-round game against Michigan State.
