Discloses 2022-23 plans

May 19, 2022
Williams has withdrawn from the 2022 NBA Draft and will play his fifth collegiate season at LSU, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
After the departure of head coach Matt McMahon from Murray State to LSU, Williams entered the transfer portal and ultimately decided to remain with his long-time coach in his fifth collegiate season. Williams also declared for the NBA Draft to have his skills evaluated, but he'll ultimately choose an additional year of college. At 18.0 ppg and 8.4 rpg last season, Williams was the leading scorer for the Racers, but translating these solid fantasy numbers to a power conference may prove challenging. He should still get to start as the primary center, but four-star big man Jalen Reed may also find himself in the mix.
