Milton had 22 points (6-11 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 6-10 FT), nine assists and five rebounds in Saturday's 72-55 win over USC.

When Milton has a strong night, so do the Mustangs. The junior point guard has been a model of consistency this year, scoring in double figures in every game and turning in back-to-back 22-point efforts. Named the AAC preseason Player of the Year in October, Milton has certainly lived up to the title so far. In addition to scoring (18.7 PPG), he provides fantasy owners with steady rebounding (4.6 RPG) and assist (4.0 APG) numbers from the backcourt.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Milton has been named the 2017-18 American Athletic Conference preseason Player of the Year after averaging 13.0 points, 4.5 assists and 4.1 rebounds a season ago.

Milton was the third-leading scorer on the 2016-17 Mustangs roster, but should have plenty more shot opportunities following the departures of Semi Ojeleye, Ben Moore and Sterling Brown to the NBA. Those key losses will likely prevent the team from repeating as conference champions, but it's a statistical dream for those targeting "Shake" in AAC fantasy leagues. The 6-6 guard fell just a shy of double-digit field goal attempts in his junior season, but he's a near-lock to reach that mark in his final year of collegiate eligibility. It may be tougher to shoot 43.7 percent from the field and 42.3 percent from beyond the arc with the higher volume, but the counting stats are sure to spike upward as he becomes responsible for more volume scoring. Milton will join UConn's Jalen Adams, Houston's Rob Gray, Wichita State's Landry Shamet and UCF's B.J. Taylor on the 2017-18 AAC Preaseason All-Conference unit.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Milton will return to school for his junior season, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Milton led the Mustangs in assists (4.5 APG) last season, while also chipping in 13.0 PPG and shooting 42.3 percent from beyond the arc. His return is a nice boost for SMU's 2017-18 prospects, though if forward Semi Ojeleye decides to stay as well, the team could be a preseason top-10 candidate.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Milton collected 11 points, nine rebounds, and four assists in Sunday’s win against Tulane.

Milton actually had a poor day from the floor, hitting just 4-of-12 field goals attempted. However, he set a season high for rebounds and continues to establish himself as a scoring threat within the Mustangs’ lineup. The sophomore point guard has hit a three in 12 straight games while receiving extensive playing time.
