Today is like Christmas for NFL teams. Some teams will have their stockings stuffed with gifts, and some with coal. Until today, I have undertook the impossible practice of predicting the picks without trades. Today, I make an even more ridiculous prediction by trying to predict the trades that will happen in tonight's first round of the NFL Draft. Enjoy the craziness that follows. It'll make tonight seem rather tame. The Green means a team traded up to that spot, the pale red means the team traded down. All in all there were five trades predicted.

Head Coach Romeo Crennel has agreed to a two-year contract extension with the Browns. The deal has been agreed to in principal and still needs to be signed. Once that happens, he will be signed through the 2011 season. This is quite a turn of events considering he was on the hot seat at the start of the season, but a 10-win season was enough to convince the Browns' brass Crennel is needed long-term.

The Browns fired Defensive Coordinator Todd Grantham after three seasons with the team. The move comes as a bit of a surprise, given that Grantham signed a contract extension last spring that tied him to the Browns through the 2009 season. In 2007, the Browns ranked 30th overall in total defense, and 27th in stopping the run (129.5 yards per game). The team has replaced him with secondary coach Mel Tucker. Head Coach Romeo Crennel promoted Cory Undlin to replace Tucker as the defensive backs coach. Undlin received a one-year contract extension and is signed through the 2009 season. Undlin spent the past three seasons working with the Browns secondary.
