Fantuz will start at slotback in Friday's game against the Blue Bombers.

Fantuz made his 2017 debut last week and tallied three receptions for 23 yards. He led the Tiger-Cats in receiving last season, but several other pass catchers became key contributors in his absence, so he may continue playing more of a complementary role like he did in his Week 15 debut.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fantuz was seen taking reps with the first team during Tuesday's practice and seemingly could play during Saturday's game against the Argonauts, Drew Edwards of 3DownNation.com reports.

The veteran hasn't played since last October, when he tore his ACL. Prior to the injury, he had 101 receptions through 17 games and recorded 1,059 yards. Still, it's no guarantee he'll play Saturday, but the situation is certainly worth monitoring.

Fantuz is listed on the Tiger-Cats' practice roster ahead of Friday's game against the Lions.

Fantuz recently re-signed with Hamilton after spending a year off as the team's coordinator of player development while recovering from a torn ACL. The wideout posted 101 catches for 1,059 yards in 2016, but it looks like he'll be eased back into the swing of things with the Tiger-Cats. Expect a full return to the field soon for Fantuz.

Fantuz (knee) is expected to sign a contract with the Tiger-Cats on Monday, Drew Edwards of 3DownNation.com reports.

Fantuz has been serving as the Tiger-Cats' coordinator of player development while recuperating from a torn ACL, which he suffered last October. Now nearly a full year removed from the injury, it appears Fantuz is back to full strength and ready to rejoin the Hamilton receiving ranks. The Canadian wideout registered 101 catches for 1,059 yards in 2016, so he could carve out a major role right away for Hamilton if he doesn't experience too many limitations in his return from the injury.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fantuz (knee) could be ready to suit up for the Tiger-Cats in the near future, The Hamilton Spectator reports.

Fantuz had a chance to play in Friday's game against the Roughriders; and although he ultimately will not play, he could be cleared to return to action before September comes to a close.

Fantuz (knee) was re-signed by the Ti-Cats on Thursday, Drew Edwards of 3downnation.com reports.

Fantuz, a 33-year-old receiver, set a career high in catches during the 2016 season before tearing his ACL in late October. He remains without a specific return timetable, but quarterback Zach Collaros will enjoy having one of his favorite targets back in 2017.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fantuz will not play again this season after being diagnosed with a torn ACL, the Hamilton Spectator reports.

Fantuz left the Tiger-Cats' Week 19 game with a knee injury, and it turns out the setback will prevent him from playing again this season. Fantuz's injury leaves the Tiger-Cats extremely thin at the receiver position heading into the postseason.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fantuz left Friday's game with a lower-body injury and will not return.

Fantuz was able to take the field Friday despite dealing with an injury earlier in the week, but he is now less than 100 percent again. It remains to be seen if he will be able to play in next week's regular season finale.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fantuz (undisclosed) is listed as a starting slotback on the depth chart for Friday's game against the Redblacks.

Fantuz missed a day of practice earlier this week, but it appears whatever ailment he was dealing with will not prevent him from playing this week. Fantuz racked up 32 receptions and 309 receiving yards over the last three weeks, and he figures to remain busy with fellow slotbacks Luke Tasker (undisclosed) and Brandon Banks (suspension) out this week.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fantuz did not take part in Monday's practice, 3DownNation reports.

It's not clear why Fantuz sat out Monday, but his absence leaves his status in question for the Tiger-Cats' next game Friday against the Redblacks.

October 2, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fantuz totaled 130 yards on a whopping 15 receptions in Saturday's 36-17 loss to the Stamps.

Fantuz exploded for a career high in receptions while also recording his second straight 100-yard performance. The veteran now needs only two receptions to equal the career-high 87 he recorded in 2010 with the Roughriders. Following Saturday's gargantuan effort, he has a combined 24 catches for 243 yards over the last two weeks.

September 25, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fantusz totaled 113 yards on nine receptions in Saturday's 20-18 loss to the Roughriders.

The veteran wideout was Zach Collaros' top target on the night, setting season highs in receptions and yards in the process. Fantuz has at least four receptions in all but one game this season, but hasn't scored since Week 9 against this same Roughriders squad. He also needs just 18 receptions over the last four games to eclipse the career-best 87 he tallied for Saskatchewan in 2010.

September 17, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fantuz caught four passes for a team-high 65 yards in Friday's win over the Alouettes.

It was a tight defensive battle that was eventually decided by the kickers, but Fantuz was still able to produce decent numbers on the night. Chad Owens' foot injury could open up some extra targets for Fantuz, but the veteran slotback has already had his best campaign since 2013 this season, catching 61 passes for 683 yards and five TDs.

August 21, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fantuz totaled 77 yards and a touchdown on four catches in Saturday's 53-7 victory over the Roughriders.

The veteran national alertly hauled in a pass on the left sideline that had been tipped twice before reaching him and turned upfield for what would be the first of the Ti-Cats' six touchdowns on the night. Fantuz surpassed last season's reception and yardage total with his production Saturday, and has at least four catches in each of the last four weeks.

July 24, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fantuz tallied 80 yards and two touchdowns on six catches in Saturday's 37-31 victory over the Eskimos.

The veteran receiver brought in a 23-yard touchdown pass to culminate an eight-play, 79-yard drive in the fourth period that brought the Ti-Cats to within four points of the Eskimos at the time. He came back with a six-yard touchdown with 10:10 remaining to give Hamilton their first lead since the game's opening possession. Fantuz has already totaled 29 catches over the first five games, putting him well on pace to blow past the 42 he totaled in a down campaign in 2015.

July 8, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fantuz hauled in seven receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's 28-24 loss to the Blue Bombers.

The 32-year-old national put together his third seven-reception performance in as many games, while also hauling in a touchdown for the second time over that span. Fantuz has served as a superb security blanket in the short-to-intermediate passing game for interim quarterback Jeremiah Masoli so far in 2016, and is currently sporting his best yards-per-catch figure since 2013.

July 2, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fantuz caught seven passes for 57 yards in Friday's loss to the Lions.

B.C.'s defense did a great job stifling Hamilton's passing attack Friday, and as a result Fantuz found himself mostly working as a possession option. The veteran is no longer the primary receiving option for the Tiger-Cats, but he's still supplying steady numbers.

June 24, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fantuz caught seven passes for 99 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's 42-20 win over the Argos.

He hauled in a 39-yard TD strike from Jeremiah Masoli in the first quarter to open the scoring and kept the chains moving after that. Coming off his worst season since he joined the Tiger-Cats in 2012, the 32-year-old Fantuz appears ready to become a big part of Hamilton's dynamic passing game once again this season.
