De La Cruz made his first start for High-A Kinston in the Carolina League on July 23rd, allowing three runs in 5.1 innings against Potomac, striking out six. Before his promotion, he was 8-4, 1.69 with a 96:34 K:BB ratio in 96 innings for Lake County in the Sally League.
